Sportour.biz is proud to have contributed to the educational experience of students at MLC Management and Law College Ljubljana as part of their 2024 study program in Management and Marketing in Sport, led by Dr. Damjan Pintar.
Beyond the theoretical foundations and engaging case studies in sports marketing and sports tourism, the curriculum incorporated insights from leading professionals in the Slovenian sports and government sectors. Students had the unique chance to learn directly from invited lecturers, offering diverse perspectives on the industry:
- Sociological Aspects of Sport Management: Dr. Martina Rauter, an advisor to the Minister at the Ministry of the Economy, Tourism and Sport, shared her expertise on the sociological dimensions of sport management. Her presentation featured a detailed case study of the “Sports for All” event in Maribor, highlighting its connection to the Pohorje mountain resort.
- Jurisdictional Framework of Sports Management: Dr. Tone Jagodic, the long-term former Secretary General of the Slovenian Olympic Committee and an advisor to European Olympic Committees, provided invaluable knowledge on the legal aspects of sports management. His lecture covered various types of agreements and contracts crucial to the sports industry.
- Management and Vision of a Leading Sports Federation: Mr. Uroš Zupan, the Director of the Slovenian Ski Federation, a federation with significant experience and a strong presence in tourism, presented their management model and future vision. This offered students a firsthand look at the operational strategies of one of the region’s most organized sports bodies.
This initiative underscores the importance of connecting academic learning with real-world expertise, providing MLC students with a richer and more comprehensive understanding of the management and marketing landscape within the sports and tourism sectors.
