Dr. Damjan Pintar, the driving force behind Sportour’s renowned study tours, recently returned from an insightful trip to the picturesque Lake Tahoe area straddling California and Nevada. This latest tour provided a valuable opportunity to reunite with industry peers at prominent mountain resorts such as Palisades Tahoe, Northstar, Kirkwood, and Heavenly Valley. Dr. Pintar also had the pleasure of catching up with colleagues who have brought their expertise from Utah’s ski resorts to the West Coast.
The two-week immersion focused on understanding the burgeoning trend of year-round tourism in mountain destinations and the latest concepts in winter tourism marketing. With the strong presence of Epic and Icon affiliated resorts in the Lake Tahoe region, the tour offered a unique chance to analyze different operational philosophies. Furthermore, Dr. Pintar dedicated time to studying the evolving landscape of sport tourism, including the challenges and opportunities arising from shifting target audience preferences.
