15th Sri Lankan Olympic Academy Seminar
The National Olympic Committee of Sri Lankan invited SporTour’s expert – Damjan Pintar to lecture at 15th Olympic Academy Seminar for young athletes from Sri Lanka, Maldives and Paskistan.
Held between November 30th till December 3rd, 2016 in Bandarawela, Sri Lanka, the seminar was a great opportunity for the athletes and their coaches to exchange ideas and learn about new training methods and best practices but also to discuss how to extend the benefits of training a sport to young people’s everyday life. During his lectures Damjan Pintar talked about the Olympic Solidarity movement and shared with the participants some marketing tips about getting the right sponsors and how to increase the engagement of local communities in the Olympic initiatives. SporTour’s expert met also with Mr. Chandana Perera – a representative of the Colombo Municipal Council, which is the oldest and largest local government institute in Sri Lanka and visited together with him some sports facilities to meet young coaches and children building the future of Sri Lankan sports.
Damjan Pintar also held a meeting with a group of young athletes who in December will come to Slovenia to improve their winter sports skills (alpine skiing, snowboarding, cross country and biathlon). SporTour is proud and excited to organize and co-sponsor these training camps as some of the athletes will represent Sri Lanka in the country’s first ever appearance at Asian Winter Games, Sapporo 2017.
