Following a recommendation from friends in the Olympic movement, Dr. Damjan Pintar of Sportour hosted Mr. Abdelhak Alami and Mr. Kamal Hackicko in early September. Their visit was driven by a keen interest in both athlete training and the education of sports professionals.
The guests toured a potential training center for athletes from North Africa and the Gulf states. Dr. Pintar presented them with four possible locations across Slovenia’s three distinct climatic zones, including a high-altitude training center and a specialized spa for injuries to the locomotor system.
The discussions also focused on the possibility of organizing educational programs in Slovenia, as well as providing training opportunities in their respective countries. A key topic was the rehabilitation of injured athletes, as Slovenia offers not only excellent facilities for athlete preparation and professional education but also world-class conditions for sports injury rehabilitation.
Finally, since Mr. Hackicko owns a sports tourism agency, they also explored various other forms of sports tourism, highlighting Slovenia’s significant potential in this field.
