Fudokan Karate and Cyprus
Lectures at a Sport & Tourism conference in Cyprus and further development of the plan for the December 2018 European Fudokan Championships in Porotorož.
February was marked by two important events for SporTour. Following previous arrangements Prof. Ilija Jorga, Aleksandar Simić, Igor Gajić – the executives of the World Fudokan Federation visited Slovenia to review and discuss the concept for the European Fudokan Championships prepared by SporTour in cooperation with Bernardin Group. The plan was approved, and all parties involved can now move further with the preparations.
Damjan Pintar of Sportour participated also as an invited lecturer at a Sport & Tourism conference in Cyprus. He presented the importance of standardized sport facilities in relation to how these should answer the needs of the public, tourists and athletes. Taking advantage of his visit in Cyprus, Damjan Pintar held an appointment with the President of the council of University of Nicosia Prof. Nicos Kartakoullis, and they agreed to start a long term cooperation.
The month was concluded with another plan for a European Karate event to be held in Slovenia in 2018. Executive board members of ETKF met again with SporTour and Bernardin representatives in Porotorož to discuss the principles of the event.
