A Slovenian delegation, representing the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Economy, recently participated in the 50th-anniversary celebration of INTERALPIN in Innsbruck, Austria. This prominent international fair is a key event for the mountain resort industry, bringing together over 650 companies from around the world showcasing their latest products and services.
Following a gracious invitation from the Economic Department of the Austrian Embassy, the Chamber’s director, Marjan Čuk, and Dr. Damjan Pintar attended this insightful event.
During their visit, the Slovenian representatives, which included representatives from the esteemed mountain resorts of Golte, Velika Planina, and Jezersko, actively participated in a dedicated workshop and exchange with 300 guests from 21 countries. This valuable session facilitated connections with leading producers specializing in equipment and installations crucial for year-round tourism in mountain destinations.
Furthermore, the Austrian colleagues extended a generous invitation to explore the INTERALPIN fair and offered opportunities to visit successful year-round mountain resorts in Tyrol. These visits provided valuable insights into best practices within the industry.
The three-day visit to Innsbruck also fostered significant networking opportunities for Dr. Pintar. He reconnected with long-time colleagues from FIANET, including Mr. Aureli Brisbe from Spain, the newly appointed president of OITAF. Dr. Pintar also engaged with key figures in the mountain resort sector, such as Mr. Joaquim Alsina, the Catalan director of mountain resorts, and representatives from the German and Austrian ropeway associations, strengthening valuable connections and facilitating important exchanges.
