21st North China Travel Fair

At the request of Slovenian Tourist Organization and HIT Alpinea, Damjan Pintar travelled to China to participate in the CEEC forum and investigate the current potential of the Chinese active tourism market and make sure Slovenia is properly presented at the 21st North China Travel Fair.

The event took place between July 1st-3rd in the city Tangshan which is part of Habei province, close to Beijing that will host the 2022 winter Olympic Games. And with the governmental plan to introduce winter sports in the next years to millions of Chinese people, the Chinese tourism market represents an interesting opportunity also for the Slovenian resorts.
SporTour’s expert accompanied by Roman Petrov, a Slovenian businessman living since 15 years in Shanghai participated in the fair engaging in lots of meetings to gain knowledge, identify opportunities and choose the best Chinese partners.
Particularly interesting meetings were held with Mr Ji Wai, the owner of Wisdom Travel agency that is already sending Chinese tourists to countries like Hungary, Austria and Croatia and is ready to introduce Slovenia to its clients. The first Chinese groups are expected to visit Slovenia late August, beginning of September this year.
